To be sure, to be sure & back in New York City

Unless you own your own laptop you are pretty much finished for internet use in the states - that is why it has been so difficult to keep up to date here.

Geoff finally made it back for our last two nights in Boston and we went out to Doyle's bar in Jamaica Plains which was the locals of the Kennedy family. It might be because America is such a young country but everyone is fixated with the notion of heritage, specifically being Irish. Everybody will refer to themselves as third or fourth generation irish, the supermarkets are full of authentic 'Irish' products such as Robinsons Barley Water - go figure. Most remarkable of all, bar tenders go on evening classes to learn to speak with an Irish accent to improve their chances of getting more tips. It is hilarious to watch them; we walked in to a bar that was called the 'wee molly pub' on their business card is a picture of a ramshackle rustic cottage though in reality, it is situated one block south of madison square garden has a roller shutter for a door and a neon shamrock in the window. Liverpool were playing arsenal on the TV. The girl behind the bar asked which was my team, i said Liverpool and she looked at me blankly. Later on she was talking to San about St Patricks day and San said 'Oh we were in Dublin for that.' she looked bewildered and obviously had no idea where this Dublin place was (Geoff later confirms this by telling me that all the American kids in the private school he works in think that Europe is a country and London is the capital).

Oh also on the subject, there was a guy bawling to his friend on his mobile while he watched the fox soccer channel premier-ship and he actually said "The one guy i don't get is Mascherano - he is so overrated. He doesn't score any goals. He doesn't make any assits. He just sits in front of the defence like all game." He then went on to conclude that we should play john arne riise up front.

We say goodbye's to Geoff, The Boston Beerworks & Shaw's Supermarket (with employees called Jesus and Destiny & one massive black girl at the check out said to San "Feeling those shoes girl") and then took the greyhound back to NYC. Brilliantly they have upgraded us to the pretty in pink suite which is massive and directly below Madonna's room she uses at the Chelsea.

Then it's up to the airport for the flight to LA and then on to San Diego.

Hopefully i will find somewhere to upload some pictures soon.

For all the girlies with a penchant for footwear, it is imperative you upload photos of San's shoes...never mind your travels!
